Angelina Nungurrayi
Angelina Marks Nungurrayi was born in 1981 in Alice Springs. She is the daughter of the seminal Papunya Tula Artists painter, Mick Namarrari Tjapaltjarri and noted painter, Elizabeth Marks Nakamarra. As a young girl, she learnt to paint from watching Mick Namarari at the family's outstation in Nyunman, south east of Kintore. She has since inherited custodial ownership of his Country, as well as the important story of the native mouse, Tjunginpa Tjukurrpa.
Over the last few years, Angelina has created a body of work uniquely her own, yet through the shared story passed down to her, she evokes the memory of her father.
